Analyse brief requirement for creating animatic
1) Concept for game animation
These two pictures served as inspiration for my game since they have distinct aesthetics and gameplay elements that set them apart from one another while sharing an adventure theme. I chose Post Knight because I've played the game, which features adorable character designs, fluid animation, an approachable user interface, and an engaging gameplay mechanic. On the other hand, even though I haven't played Donkey Kong, I still like to watch how the game is played because I'm curious about the mechanics. The game's graphics are more pixelated, reflecting the period when resources were scarce and technology was still evolving.
2) Storyboard
3) Character designs
Main Characters
The goal of the game is to capture Tsuroka, the ultimate boss at level 5, but this objective was abandoned because of time constraints and other commitments. Regarding the monster, levels 2 through 5 were originally intended to be in the final animation, but they were also dropped because they had too many poses that took up too much time. As a result, level 1 would be the main focus.
4) Game level designs
Game level design
Levels 2 through 5 of the game are meant to be included, but because of deadline conflicts, I've only focused on level 1 to make it easier for me to create. To improve the gameplay mechanics, I decided to use the redesigned level 1 instead of the previously sketched level 1.
Softwares used for animatic
To save time, I create illustrations and small animation game main menu introduction for animatic using Clipstudio Paint and my own drawing tablet. I also create assets that will be later converted to pixels using an online converter. Conversely, all of the illustrations should be assembled later using Adobe Premiere Pro so that it can be integrated with sound effects, background music, and my own voiceover for the editing stage.
